Prayers

Nothing is wasted when we yield ourselves to Jesus. When life turns upside down, you can choose to become a casualty of calamity or cling to Christ and stand on His Word. Crisis is a chance to grow closer to Christ—to hand your quivering heart to Him who made it. He makes all things beautiful in His time. Knowing God and keeping this eternal perspective helps me navigate some of the mess and heartbreak of life. In the end He makes all things right.

Heartbreak in a part of living in a fallen world. Sometimes it’s a consequence of our sin or another’s. When we give our heartache and trials to God He uses them to build our faith and character, to draw us closer to Him and experience His heart healing power, to teach us empathy and train us to minister to others.

We use manure to enrich the soil. It nourishes plants so they flourish & bear fruit. God also uses the manure in our lives-the trials, in the same way. God works everything for our good & His glory when we get our hearts right & wait on Him.

When belief in God becomes difficult, the tendency is to turn away from Him; but in heaven’s name, to what?  —G K Chesterton

Sometimes I dwell on problems, talk to others before I talk to God and wrestle to find solutions. Sometimes I realize I’m thinking about praying, rather than actually praying to God. Even if we do all the right mechanics, at the end of the day what we really need for a change of heart that brings lasting change in our lives and in others is a miraculous touch from God.

Good morning, Lord.

I need You.

Give me ears to hear Your still small voice

The mind to understand Your Word

Eyes to see the needs around me

A heart after You to obey.

Strengthen my hands to work your will

Direct my feet to walk in Your Way

In Jesus’ name I pray

Amen.

I’m Stepping Out of the Boat

I’m stepping out of the boat, Lord

I’m gonna walk on water,

I’m coming to You Jesus,

Because the way to be free

Is vulnerable to You

The storm rages in me

The storm rages around me

Waves rise and mock

But the smile in Your eyes beckons

All I want is You

For Your perfect love

Casts out fear

You captivate me

Your touch resurrects

Set me free, Lord

Consume me until all I see is You

And I can’t help but shout

Of  Your glory

Jesus
