Bold & Vulnerable

Vulnerability doesn’t come easy for me. But God calls us to live boldly and open-faced. Love requires we truly give of ourselves.

Though we may walk different roads in life, you’ll find takeaways for your journey in my story which I’m honored to have published on the Almost an Author website.

“You’ve drawn back,” that familiar voice whispered to my heart. I tried to shrug off the nudge…

You Aren’t Alone in the Pulpit: Will Graham’s Word of Encouragement to Pastors

STATISTICS SAY 42% OF PASTORS ARE BURNT OUT AND CONSIDERING LEAVING THE MINISTRY. SOME PASTORS DON’T HAVE A SUPPORT SYSTEM TO MINISTER TO THEIR NEEDS.

Pastor Rodney Combs, a veteran of the pastoral ministry, and a coach to pastors and Christian leaders is offing 50% off a coaching session for #PastorAppreciationMonth.

  1. Oh what good inspiration right now! I’m at a writers’ retreat, coping with that word pointing at me…”failure”…as I keep digging into the chocolate…. Your comments go beyond the aspects of forgiveness (as I work on forgiving myself) and remind me that I need to be bold and vulnerable in my promotions as well as my writing.

    1. Oh, how your comment blesses me. Praise God. I’ll be praying for you and your writing. If you’d like to read my other posts on the writing journey, there is a “Categories” button in my sidebar with a drop-down menu. (Or scroll forever on your phone to find it.) Also, you can use the “Search” bar to find my post titled “Forgive” (mentioned in my story”) as well as “Between the Sun” on the subject of forgiveness. Please note, they both need editing as I wrote those and the event happened a few years ago, (But I just wrote my article “The Absent Author” for Almost an Author’s website.) – God bless you.

  2. Ah, to lay ourselves bare. As a writer, we often “bleed” the words that we put onto paper. It’s a most solitary task for good reason, I think. Yet, if we are to move people and change lives, we have to be brave enough to put our hearts on display for the world to see, attack, and we hope, be touched by. I remind myself often of my “Audience Collage.” It’s a graphic I made that depicts who I think my writing audience is. A mix of young and old, most with leathery hands and gentle hearts. At the center is Christ. He’s my audience. He is the one I write for. When I’m done and I offer Him my best, which means I’ve subjected it to the scrutiny of others who seek to help me put forth my best, I gift my words to Him, reminding Him that they are His to use as He intends. If that audience is one person, that’s His business not mine. Something I’ve learned though my friend, is that sometimes that “one person” is me. God’s blessings. Loved your article/post ma’am.
